At the recently concluded Bharat Mobility Expo 2024, Ultraviolette Automotive signed an MoU with HPCL to set up charging stations for electric bikes across India.

Under the first phase of this project, Ultraviolette will be setting up charging stations at HPCL retail fuel pumps in 12 select states (however the names of these haven’t been shared), followed by expansion across the country. Ultraviolette’s fast charging stations will strategically cover not just highways but will also be present in remote locations, leveraging HPCL’s network.

The Ultraviolette F77 e-bike has a claimed IDC range of 307km in its top Recon guise although the real-world range number is much lower, as we found out in our comprehensive road test

Speaking on the topic, Niraj Rajmohan, CTO & Co-Founder, Ultraviolette said, “This strategic partnership will enable us to leverage HPCL’s extensive network to offer a seamless and hassle-free charging experience while playing an active role in establishing a national charging infrastructure for electric motorcycles and enabling cross-country EV Motorcycle travel. We believe that this collaboration will accelerate the transition to cleaner forms of mobility, aligning with the Government of India’s ambitious vision for a cleaner and sustainable mobility landscape by 2030.”
