Suzuki has a Burgman Street MotoGP Edition on display at its stand at Auto Expo 2020 in Noida. The company has said that the Burgman Street could soon be available in the company’s racing colours. However, this depends on the response it garners.

While the arrival of the colour scheme still remains unsure, we do know that the Burgman Street is set to get a BS6-compliant, fuel-injected engine and the company’s ‘easy start system’. The easy start system requires you to just click on the starter button once until the scooter starts (and not hold it down, like before). Since the upcoming Burgman Street shares its engine with the Access 125, we expect the power and torque to remain similar, if not identical, to that of the BS6 Access. For reference, the Access makes 8.7hp at 6,750rpm and 10Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

Suzuki has also showcased the standard Burgman Street in BS6 form; though its specifications are still unknown. However, the manufacturer has revealed that the scooter will go on sale soon – in mid-February.

The outgoing BS4 Burgman Street costs Rs 71,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The upcoming BS6-compliant model is expected to increase the price by around Rs 5,000; and if the MotoGP Edition is made available on the BS6 model, the price of that model could go up by an additional Rs 1,000.
