Chinese electric two-wheeler company, Super Soco, recently launched a Ducati edition of its CUx electric scooter. The new e-scooter is priced at £2,299 (Rs 2.04 lakh) in the United Kingdom.
Curiously, the CUx electric scooter is not a Ducati product by any means, despite the obvious red-and-white colour scheme being featured on it, along with Ducati logos. This branding exercise happens to be the only connection we can see between the two companies.
Our findings indicate that Italian superbike brand doesn't seem to have had a direct hand in the development of this e-scooter. The special edition model seems to be reminiscent of product placement along the lines of Ferrari-branded Puma shoes and the McLaren-branded OnePlus 6T smartphone.
The CUx is the top-spec variant of the line-up. It comes equipped with a 32Ah lithium-ion battery that provides a claimed range of 75km. The battery is removable and can be charged outside of the scooter. Super Soco also say that its battery uses the same technology found in the Tesla Model S and that it can be fast-charged in 3.5hr.
The e-scooter also features all-LED lighting, disc brakes at both ends and a fully digital instrument cluster.
