Leaked images reveal that Harley-Davidson is working on a V-twin powered entry-level offering.

  • Is powered by a 296cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin

  • Made in collaboration with Qianjiang

  • Has a claimed kerb weight of 163kg

Harley-Davidson has made it quite clear that it plans to enter the 300cc segment. The company showcased sketches of its parallel-twin powered 338R, and a leaked image also revealed the motorcycle in production-ready form. However, it now appears that the V-twin seen in the new images might replace the 338R as the small-capacity Harley to come out of China.

Like the 338R, the new bike has also been developed in partnership with Qianjiang (Benelli’s parent company). While the bike hasn’t been officially revealed, details have leaked as the company has applied for documentation. In addition to this, the Chinese brand has revealed teaser images that reveal the bike is called the SRV 300.

What you’ll instantly notice is that this bike is more in line with Harley’s traditional designs. Unlike the 338R that looked like a naked motorcycle, this one features the company’s sportster styling, albeit scaled down. Even styling elements like the wheel design looks similar to that of higher-capacity Harleys. That said, it does feature modern equipment like a USD fork and liquid-cooling.

The document also reveals that the bike uses a 16-inch front wheel and a 15-inch unit at the rear. It has a claimed top speed of 129kph and comes equipped with ABS. According to the document, the 296cc, V-twin engine makes around 30hp. The claimed kerb weight, meanwhile, stands at 163kg.
