Hero, Bajaj sales rise as TVS, Royal Enfield decline in March 2024

Suzuki sold more than 80,000 units for the third consecutive month.

Sales figures for the last month of FY24 have been released and here’s how each company performed. 

Hero MotoCorp: 4,59,257 units

Hero continues to retain its position at the top of the Indian two-wheeler pyramid with sales of 4,59,257 units in March 2024, which was an increase of 3.10 percent compared to the 4,45,257 units it sold in February. However, compared to the 5,02,730 units it sold in March 2023, it represents an 8.64 percent decrease. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI): 3,58,151 units

HMSI continues to hold its second place in the market, although it reported an 13.48 percent decrease compared to the 4,13,967 units it sold in February. Compared to its unusually low sales figure for March of last year (1,97,512 units) it reported a large 81.33 percent increase. TVS Motor Company: 2,60,532 units

TVS reported a small 2.60 percent decrease in March when compared to its February sales figure of 2,67,502 units. Despite that, the Hosur-based marque reported an 8.20 percent increase when compared to its sales figure for March 2023 (2,40,780 units). Bajaj Auto: 1,93,004 units

Bajaj reported an increase of 13.18 percent in March compared to its February sales figure of 1,70,527 units. Even in comparison to its March 2023 sales figure (1,52,287 units), the Chakan-based company reported an 26.73 percent increase. Suzuki: 86,164 units

For the third consecutive month, Suzuki has sold in excess of 80,000 units and it reported an 3.43 percent increase last month compared to the 83,304 units it sold in February. The company also reported an 17.92 percent increase when compared to its sales numbers for March 2023 (73,069 units). Royal Enfield: 66,604 units

Compared to the 67,922 units it sold in February, Royal Enfield reported a 1.94 percent decrease last month. However, when compared to the 59,884 units it sold in March 2023, the company reported an 11.22 percent increase.
