The XSR155 is powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as the R15 and MT-15. Here too, this engine produces 18.4hp at 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm at 7,500rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The XSR also shares its perimeter chassis (or Deltabox in Yamaha’s terminology) with the R15 and MT-15, and this frame comes suspended via a USD fork and a monoshock. Its kerb weight is 137kg, 4kg lower than the MT-15’s.
What differentiates the XSR from its 155cc brethren is its neo-retro styling. It features a round LED headlamp, a round LED tail-light and a 10-litre teardrop-shaped tank that has Yamaha spelt out on it instead of the brand’s logo. The bike even gets a rather flat, single-piece seat, adding to its retro aesthetic, as opposed to the two-piece stepped seat seen on the MT-15 and R15.
