Top 10 bestselling cars in August 2025 image gallery

10th place: The Maruti Eeco van snuck into the top 10 with 10,785 units sold.
9th place: The venerable Swift hatchback slipped by four positions compared to last month, selling 12,385 units.
8th place: With 12,422 units dispatched, the Fronx maintained its position on the leaderboard in August.
7th place: The Baleno ranked better in August than July, though at 12,549 units dispatched, the hatchback sold 51 units fewer.
6th place: Maruti dispatched 13,620 units of the Brezza to Arena dealers, allowing the compact SUV to hold onto its ranking.
5th place: The Tata Nexon fared much better in August, selling not only more units (14,004) but also jumping up four positions.
4th place: The Wagon R's ranking didn't change compared to July, but it sold slightly fewer units at 14,552.
3rd place: Hyundai's SUV juggernaut, the Creta, slipped one spot in August with 15,924 units dispatched.
2nd place: The Dzire was the chart-topper in July 2025, but at 16,509 units sold in August, the compact sedan sees the largest month-on-month deficit (3,491 units).
1st place: With 18,445 units dispatched, the Ertiga MPV reigned supreme in the August 2025 sales charts.

India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, expectedly conquered the August 2025 sales charts, holding eight out of the top 10 spots thanks to popular models like the Ertiga, Wagon R, Brezza, and more. The Hyundai Creta remains the bestselling SUV, and the Nexon is still the only Tata model to make an appearance in the top 10. Notably, Mahindra did not make an appearance in the top 10 sales charts for August 2025, despite the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic ranking at 7th place last month.
