Tesla has unveiled its new Roadster EV, with production set to begin in 2028. It will be the second generation of the Roadster, whose first generation was discontinued in 2012. The new model will be offered in a standard Performance trim, along with Thrust and Rocket packages. Bookings for the Performance trim and Thrust package are open in India at Rs 5 lakh, while the Rocket package is available only by invitation.Tesla claims the new Roadster can accelerate from 0-100kph in under a second. However, final powertrain details, including battery capacity, motor output and range, are yet to be revealed. The electric sports car also gets an underbody suction fan for extra grip. The Thrust package adds four rear-mounted thrusters, while the Rocket package adds 10 more, allowing the car to perform airborne manoeuvres.
