Defence technology firm Indrajaal has developed the Ranger, an autonomous patrol vehicle made to counter drone threats. Built on the Toyota Hilux platform, the vehicle is engineered to secure borders and critical infrastructure without direct human control. The Ranger uses a layered defence system. It detects aerial threats up to 10 km away and can disable them with electronic jamming at a range of 3 km. For threats that get closer, the system neutralises them with projectiles within a 2 km radius. Leveraging the Hilux’s 4x4 capabilities, the Ranger can operate in difficult terrain and function off-grid with its own power source.
