The new-gen Mercedes-Benz GLB has debuted with EV and ICE powertrains, and will come to India in the latter guise only, at least initially.
Up front, the new GLB gets connected LED headlights and a large grille flanked by sizable air intakes.
LED three-pointed star in the headlights is shared with the new CLA that debuted earlier this year.
New GLB has a 60mm longer wheelbase and is 98mm longer overall, which should translate to a roomier cabin.
At the back, the new GLB features a thick inverted-U-shaped LED light bar and a small diffuser on the bumper.
Even the rear light bar features LED three-pointed stars.
New GLB interior is dominated by a triple-screen setup, with the passenger display being an optional extra.
Floating centre console frees up more space inside, and the panoramic sunroof features 158 illuminated stars.
Second row seats can slide and recline, and look spacious enough to seat three occupants comfortably.
The new GLB continues to be the only three-row compact luxury SUV.
Boot space is rated at 480 litres for the 7 seater GLB (rear seats folded), and 540 litres for the 5 seater version.
EV versions of the new GLB get a 127-litre frunk as well.
GLB EV gets an 85kWh battery as standard, mated to either a 272hp rear motor with 631km of range or a 353hp dual-motor setup with 614km.

Mercedes-Benz has pulled the covers off the new GLB SUV, which is based on the same MMA platform as the new CLA. That means the new GLB will be available with EV and ICE powertrains, though the former won't be offered in India, at least initially. The new GLB's design doesn't stray very far from that of its predecessor, but features newer touches like connected LED headlights, a lower-set grille, rear LED light bar, and more. A three-screen setup takes dominance on the dashboard, and the new GLB's 60mm longer wheelbase should make for a more spacious interior. It gets an 85kWh NMC battery with either a single rear motor or dual motors.
