Formula 1: Drive to Survive

Who knew F1 could dish out even more drama behind the scenes? Season 1 of the Netflix series managed to be a hit with F1 fans and casual audiences alike, giving viewers an unfiltered look at what goes on behind the scenes of the pinnacle of motorsport. Season 2 doesn’t disappoint, covering pivotal moments of the 2019 season and offering plenty of entertaining commentary from everyone’s favourite scathing Hass F1 Team Principal, Guenther Steiner.  And unlike Season 1, the latest season offers access to the big two teams – Mercedes and the rather secretive Ferrari – as well.

Le Mans: Racing is Everything

The 24 Hours of Le Mans is called the ‘Mount Everest of Motorsport’ for a good reason; it’s probably one of the most brutal tests of the endurance of man and machine out there. Set in the months leading up to the 2015 edition of the race, ‘Le Mans: Racing is Everything’ goes behind the scenes with manufacturers like Porsche, Toyota and Nissan, covering their frenzied preparation for the event. But it also serves as a decent overview of the iconic race – touching upon its illustrious history, the dangers involved and more.

Williams

Any motorsport fan knows that the Williams F1 team is a racing behemoth; the stats speak volumes with a total of nine title wins in the 1980s and 1990s with legends like Alain Prost and Nigel Mansell. And while this documentary does a good job of charting the team’s journey in F1, where it really excels is in shedding light on the human side of this journey. The focus on Sir Frank Williams’ personal story and his determination to overcome challenges after a near-fatal road accident in 1986 make for gripping viewing.

The History of the Pit Stop – Red Bull TV

F1 pitstops are nothing short of automotive magic.
