Follow usThe Aprilia SR 175 replaces the erstwhile SR 160 in the brand’s portfolio. Along with a more powerful engine, the SR 175 brings in a few new features and improves on the strengths of the earlier model. Here are a few things you should know before buying the SR 175.
The SR 175’s colour palette seems to take inspiration from the RS 457. It is available in two colours – purple and white – both coupled with red alloy wheels.
One of the biggest step ups with the SR 175 is the presence of a TFT dash that has been borrowed from the RS/Tuono 457. The display features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing smartphone pairing via the Aprilia app for call alerts, notifications and music control.
In our instrumented fuel-economy test, the Aprilia SR 175 returned a city economy of 35.21kpl. Out on the highway, it returned an economy of 41.78kpl.
The Aprilia SR range has always run on 14-inch wheels, and the SR 175 is no different – it also uses 14-inch wheels.
The SR 175 is powered by a 174.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 12.9hp and 14.14Nm.
The Aprilia SR 175 is priced at Rs 1.26 lakh.
It rivals the recently launched TVS Ntorq 150, which uses a similar 3-valve, air-cooled engine as the SR 175. It also goes up against the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160, both of which differ by incorporating liquid cooling in their engines, and are larger, more expensive maxi-scooters.
