Follow usHarley-Davidson has introduced a new X440 variant called the X440 T. This update comes alongside a few changes to the rest of the line-up, including the removal of one variant and revised pricing. Here’s a breakdown of the updated X440 range and what each variant brings to the table.
The revised Harley-Davidson X440 line-up for 2025 comprises three variants – Vivid, S, and the new T. The base Denim variant has been discontinued, and prices for the Vivid and S have been reduced by Rs 25,000. This allows the X440 T to slot in as the new flagship at the same price that the S was previously offered at.
Before we look at what each variant has to offer, here are the similarities: all three use the 440cc single-cylinder air/oil-cooled engine with peak figures of 27hp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm at 4,000rpm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The main frame and most components, including the suspension and brakes, are also shared across the line-up.
The X440 Vivid is now the entry-level variant in the line-up, priced at Rs 2.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rides on alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, unlike the discontinued Denim variant, which featured wire-spoke wheels with tube-type tyres. The Vivid also gets stickers on the fuel tank instead of the 3D Harley-Davidson logo found on the X440 S.
The bike features the same 3.5-inch circular TFT display as the other two variants but misses out on Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration, which means no geo-fencing, remote immobiliser, vehicle diagnostics, find-my-vehicle functionality or theft alerts.
The X440 S is priced at Rs 2.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the Vivid. For the extra money, you get access to smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, which enables all the previously mentioned features as well as turn-by-turn navigation, music control, call handling, phone battery status and missed call and message alerts.
Visually, the S stands apart with diamond-cut alloy wheels that give the bike a more premium look compared to the base variant. The engine cooling fins also feature a machine-finished treatment, and parts of the engine are finished in a bronze colourway.
The X440 T is the new flagship variant, priced at Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It represents a notable upgrade over the S variant with the introduction of a ride-by-wire throttle. This enables the addition of switchable traction control, switchable ABS, and two ride modes – Road and Rain. These modes alter both the throttle response and the preset traction control settings.
The X440 T also debuts a new panic braking alert feature, which triggers all indicators during hard deceleration to warn traffic behind of emergency braking.
Another key change is the redesigned rear section. The bike gets a reworked rear subframe that now supports a longer and more substantial tail cowl, giving the motorcycle a more proportionate rear profile. This has also allowed Harley-Davidson to redesign the pillion seat and grab rails. Finally, the X440 T comes equipped with bar-end mirrors, replacing the conventional stalk-mounted mirrors used on the Vivid and S variants.
