•22wI’m considering buying my first car. I’ll be traveling about 220 km between my hometown and workplace, and since I’m in a transferable job, I may need to drive longer distances in the future. I’ve shortlisted the Mahindra 3XO AX7L, but I’m unsure whether to choose the petrol or diesel variant, and whether Manual or Automatic transmission will suit me better as a new driver. I’ve also looked at the Maruti Brezza, but it doesn’t yet offer ADAS.

Since you’ll be driving over 200 km daily on the highway, the diesel variant of the Mahindra XUV 3XO would be a more cost-effective choice due to its higher fuel efficiency and suitability for long-distance commutes in the future. But, unfortunately, the 3XO is available only with an AMT transmission and isn’t the smoothest.
If you prefer a smoother diesel automatic experience, the Kia Sonet is a good alternative, as it comes with a more refined torque converter automatic transmission.
