Tata Tiago or Maruti Suzuki Celerio: which one should I buy?

The 4-star Global NCAP rating helps the Tiago earn a few brownie points.

I'm planning to buy my first car and have shortlisted the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and Tata Tiago. I'll be driving this car mostly on weekends for family outings. Which one should I pick?

Autocar India says: The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is more spacious, frugal and affordable. However, since you're mainly going to be driving over the weekend with your family, we'd recommend the Tata Tiago. It feels more premium inside and out, and has more feel-good features – the outstanding 8-speaker Harman audio system is an example, which is the best in this price range. It isn't as spacious or as frugal as the Celerio, but it is pretty respectable in isolation, and should meet your requirements. What also works in the Tiago's favour is the reassurance of a solid, safe body structure, which has helped it secure a respectable four stars in Global NCAP crash tests.
