Which is better: Tata Harrier or Tata Sierra, both petrol automatic?

Both the Tata Harrier and Sierra use the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, so the decision really comes down to what you value more: space and performance, or design and premiumness.
In the Harrier, this engine feels smoother, more refined and noticeably peppier than it does in the Sierra. It produces 170hp and 280 Nm of torque, which is 10hp and 25 Nm more than the Sierra’s version. The Harrier is also wider and more spacious overall, making it the better choice if cabin room is a priority.
The Tata Sierra, however, offers a more modern, upmarket feel. Its design is striking, and the interiors are more premium than the Harrier’s. The back seat is excellent, ride quality is very good, and its slightly more compact dimensions make it easier to park and manoeuvre in the city.
So, if you want stronger performance and more space, the Harrier makes more sense. If you prefer standout design, a richer cabin experience and easier urban usability, the Sierra is very appealing.

Both have almost same engine. The difference is in looks only. Go for looks as per your choice. Moreover Sierra will little more fuel efficient than harrier

Harrier is only spacious if you are considering for 4 people, in th back seat there's a very big transmission bump which makes it unsuitable for 3rd adult passenger, also even though it offers 10 bhp and 25 nm more but you should also take into consideration that this is almost 300 kgs heavy than sierra. Harrier is an older product so niggles would be much lesser than sierra, also personally I like the interior layout of harrier more, it has this cool terrain selector, 3 drive modes. In harrier diesel as well as petrol, I have felt some vibration in acceleration paddle whenever it goes over rough roads.

I have test drives both and suspension of Sierra is better tuned for Indian roads. Bumps and puddles don’t feeel anything in Sierra. Whereas in harrier each bump is noticeable. Not sure if 1.5 lt engine for a car like harrier is sufficient or not

Hi, I am confused between the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition Diesel AT and the Tata Sierra Adventure+ TGDi, as both fall in a similar price range. I am looking for a fun-to-drive car with family-friendly features. My monthly driving will not exceed 1,000 km. I really like the Thar Roxx’s driving experience and physical buttons for infotainment and AC. However, with the Sierra, I am concerned about flush door handles, a fully digital interface, and potential initial issues of a new product, although I love its design. What should I choose?

You can opt for the Mahindra Thar Roxx Star Edition diesel automatic; it matches what you enjoyed in the drive and gives you the simple, physical buttons you prefer, while being usable enough for family duty now that it has five doors. You already like how it feels from the driver’s seat, and that matters most for a fun car. The high seating gives a clear view of traffic, and it feels solid on rough roads, which adds to the sense of fun.One thing to be aware of: it is not as comfortable or as quiet as the Tata Sierra, and the ride can be a bit bouncy on broken roads. Your family will probably find the Sierra more comfortable for longer journeys. Choose the Sierra if your top need is family comfort and space. Given what you liked and what worries you, the Thar Roxx diesel AT is the safer, more satisfying pick today; take your family along for a long drive and check back-seat comfort and boot fit before you commit.

I am planning to buy a car within a budget of ₹15 lakh and am confused between the Hyundai Venue HX6 DCT and the Skoda Kushaq Classic Plus automatic. My main requirement is an automatic transmission, and the car should comfortably accommodate three passengers in the rear seat. Please suggest which would be the better option.

Between your two options, neither is ideal if your priority is comfortably seating three people in the rear. The Hyundai Venue has a relatively narrow cabin, which makes it tight for three adults, while the Skoda Kushaq has a heavily contoured rear seat that is very comfortable for two, but not as accommodating for three.Between the two, the Kushaq is still the more comfortable car overall. It belongs to a segment above, so it offers more knee room and better overall comfort. Its torque converter automatic is also smoother and better suited to city driving compared to the Venue’s DCT, which can feel slightly jerky in slow traffic. If rear-seat comfort for three passengers is a key requirement, it is worth looking beyond your shortlist at the Mahindra XUV 3XO. It has a wider cabin than the Venue and the Kushaq, which makes it more accommodating for three passengers at the back. It also gets a smooth torque converter automatic paired with a strong turbo-petrol engine.

Hi Team, I am choosing between the C-Class, A4, and 3 Series. My old A3 had leather interiors, which, despite being well-maintained, started to look a century old. Based on your long-term experience, which car offers better interior quality in terms of leather durability and ease of maintenance? This is important to me as I prioritise interior quality.

Go for the Mercedes‑Benz C‑Class C200 with ARTICO upholstery. In Indian heat and humidity, it resists cracking and dye transfer better than the A4’s or 3 Series’ leather options, making upkeep simpler. You specifically worry about leather ageing like your old A3, and ARTICO (a high‑grade synthetic) copes far better with 55°C+ cabin temperatures and 70-90% monsoon humidity than natural hides. It only needs a mild wipe every 2-3 months, rather than conditioning, so routine care takes about 10 minutes instead of a full detail. The grain and dye on darker ARTICO shades also hide creases and denim transfers better over 2-4 years of daily use. Do confirm the exact upholstery on your chosen C200 trim, as Mercedes often fits ARTICO on most Indian variants. The one thing you give up is the soft, natural leather feel and patina. ARTICO can feel a bit firmer and less breathable on longer drives compared with real leather. If you really want a genuine leather feel and are willing to condition it every 4-6 months, consider the BMW 3 Series 330Li M Sport with Vernasca leather instead.
