I’m confused between the BMW F 450 GS and the Norton Atlas. My riding will be mostly in the city on bad roads and potholes, with weekend breakfast rides. I won’t be doing much off-roading. I currently own a KTM Duke 390 and want a clear upgrade in power while keeping comfort and ease of use. Can the lighter BMW 450 GS compete with the Norton Atlas in real-world performance, especially for city riding and comfort?

We have not yet ridden either the Norton Atlas or the BMW F 450 GS, so we can't comment on the riding dynamics of either machine. We would suggest you wait until you can see multiple reviews of both bikes before purchasing either one to err on the side of caution.

Hello Autocar Team, my dad is planning to buy his first car for our family of 3. We want an automatic since our run will be in the city. The car and its engine should be reliable and tension-free, and it should not require excessive maintenance. The back seats should be comfortable, and the car should have a good safety rating. My dad has been eyeing the Nexon, but Tata's service is not good (from what I've heard). Please suggest a suitable car, our budget is 11-13 lakh.

Given your requirements, you should consider the Mahindra XUV 3XO. The XUV 3XO comes with a spacious back seat that can accommodate three adults. It comes with a safety kit like 6 airbags and ADAS, and it has received a 5-star crash safety rating from Bharat NCAP.The XUV 3XO comes with two turbo petrol-auto options, and since your running will majorly be in the city, go for the lower powered MPFi version. This is a 111hp, 1.2-litre three-cylinder unit that comes mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic and has a claimed mileage of 17.96kpl. The Mahindra XUV 3XO petrol-auto (MPFi) prices range from Rs 9.71 lakh to Rs 11.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

My family has used a Wagon R for 8 years. We also have an Innova Crysta. We now want to replace the Wagon R with an automatic SUV that is cheaper than the Creta. It should be suitable for city use as well as occasional travel. Preferably diesel and suitable for long-term ownership.

Since you are looking for a diesel-automatic SUV that is smaller than the Hyundai Creta, we would recommend the Hyundai Venue. The Hyundai Venue is powered by a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine that's paired with a smooth 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and has a claimed mileage of 17.9 kpl. The compact SUV also has a spacious, comfortable, and feature-rich cabin. It is also a good long-term purchase, as the Venue is reliable and Hyundai has a widespread service network in India.Hyundai Venue diesel-automatic prices range from Rs 11.58 lakh to Rs 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hi, I already own a Honda City and I am planning to buy another new hatchback for my wife that will be chauffeur-driven. Our usage will be mostly in the city and occasionally on the highway. I am looking for an automatic car with good rear seat comfort and legroom, strong safety, and good drivability as I will also use the car on weekends. My budget is ₹10 L.

Since your buying decision hinges on the rear seat, we will eliminate options that miss out on adjustable rear seat headrests, which are critical for safety. Sadly, versions of the otherwise likeable Hyundai i20 IVT and Tata Altroz AMT within your budget make do with fixed headrests only, and hence have not been considered. Your best options among hatchbacks include the Maruti Suzuki Baleno AGS Alpha and the slightly pricier Toyota Glanza AGS V. The sister models (both are made by Maruti) score well for seat comfort, ride comfort and rear legroom. Rear headroom, though, could be an issue for taller occupants. Performance in town is pleasant and decent enough for highway use, so long as you adopt an easygoing driving style. The AGS (AMT gearbox) isn't suited to sporty driving, just in case that's important to you. Between the two, the differences inside are down to the Glanza's use of lighter colours that help make the cabin seem airier.
