Hi Autocar, this might be a long shot. I’m working as an Associate Director on an upcoming Tamil film—a much-awaited pan-India project with a multi-star cast. We’re looking to feature a supercar in the film and would love guidance on connecting with supercar owners, clubs, or brands that might be open to collaborating on a shoot. Would you be able to suggest any supercar clubs, owner groups, or manufacturers who could help us feature a car? Any advice or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

In general, supercar owners would be reluctant to give their cars away as they would be worried about how their precious cars would be used.

Also, supercar owners are very wealthy in their own right and unlikely to be enticed with a shooting fee for their car. Your best bet would be to contact supercar dealers in your area who may have some stock in hand, and they may be willing to rent the car to you before it gets sold on.

I own a Skoda Rapid diesel automatic and am considering upgrading my tyres from 195/55 R16 to 205/55 R16. My driving is mostly on highways.

For mostly highway driving in a Skoda Rapid diesel automatic, 205/55 R16 tyres suit your use better than 195/55 R16.You get more grip and a steadier feel at high speed because the tyre is wider, so the car tracks straight with less fuss on the highway and has stronger braking in dry conditions. The sidewall is a touch taller, too, so it takes small bumps and joints a bit better and gives your alloys a little more protection on rough patches. With the diesel’s strong pull, the wider tyre also puts power down more cleanly when you speed up to overtake. There are a few trade-offs. Steering will feel a bit heavier at low speeds and when parking. You may see a small drop in mileage. Tyre noise can vary slightly by brand. The overall diameter increases by about 2%, so there is that much error in the speedo reading. Both sizes fit the stock 16-inch Rapid alloy (usually 6.5J), but do a quick check with full lock and a full load after fitment to ensure there is no fouling. If you care more about light steering and slightly better mileage, the 195/55 R16 is the safer, lighter-feel choice. But for mostly highway use, the 205/55 R16 will make your Rapid feel more confident and comfortable at speed.

Hi Autocar team, I am planning to buy my first car and am doing some research. I am based in Bangalore, have a budget of ₹12 lakh, and want a compact SUV with an automatic transmission. I am new to driving, and most of my usage will be city commuting. Please suggest.

Hi Autocar, I recently read an article about Kia launching the top-end GTX trim of the Seltos. Could you please let me know the expected launch timeline? I’m holding a booking for it.

Kia has already launched the GTX trim on the Seltos, so you don’t have to wait for it to arrive. Originally, GTX was positioned as a sporty, higher-spec trim available with the 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT and 1.5 diesel AT powertrains. However, Kia has now extended the GTX line-up to the 1.5 petrol with the iVT automatic as well, precisely to cater to buyers like you who want the fully loaded, sportier-looking trim without opting for the turbo-petrol.In other words, if your booking is for the 1.5 iVT in GTX trim, that configuration is now part of the range, and dealers should be able to give you a clear timeline based on their current allocation. It’s worth checking with your dealership whether your existing booking has been tagged correctly to the new GTX iVT variant so that you’re in the right queue.
