The Kinetic electric scooter, the DX is a modern-day EV tribute to the original Kinetic Honda DX, which was quite a popular name in the late 80s and early 90s. The original scooter was among the first gearless two-wheelers to gain mass acceptance in India. Its automatic transmission, electric start and step-through design made it far easier to ride than the geared scooters that dominated the market at the time. It became especially popular with families and first-time riders, helping Kinetic establish itself as one of India's most recognisable scooter brands.

After years away from the mainstream two-wheeler market, Kinetic has revived the iconic DX name as an electric scooter through Kinetic Watts & Volts Limited, a subsidiary of Kinetic Engineering. It is worth noting that this company is separate from Kinetic Green. As of August 2026, Kinetic sells one electric scooter in India, the Kinetic DX. This Kinetic scooter is available in two variants: DX Standard and DX Plus. The new DX retains several styling cues from the original scooter while adopting a modern electric powertrain, reflecting Kinetic's attempt to reconnect with its heritage in a rapidly growing EV market.
