Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta has issued a press statement declaring that its Schiranna plant in North Italy will remain open, amid the deadly COVID-19 pandemic that's swept across the world. The whole of Italy is under lockdown, following the rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country. MV Agusta says that it has implemented strict measures to ensure the virus does not disrupt business continuity, although the rate of production is expected to take a hit.

Timur Sardarov, MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. CEO, commented: “We believe it is our duty not to give up in this crisis situation, so that the economy of this community can recover once the emergency is over. We took this decision with a great sense of responsibility, towards our employees in the first place, but also towards our local community, which cannot afford a breakdown of its production capability, and towards all the related industries on which so many workers and their families depend. "

Some of the measures that have been undertaken include limiting the number of people present in the premises, supplying facemasks, sanitizing gels and disinfecting common areas on a regular basis. In addition, employees who've accumulated holidays have been asked to take them, whereas only critical departments are running to ensure only those absolutely required are present in the factory.

The company also stated that they don't have any evidence of employees who've shown symptoms related to COVID-19.

All said, product levels will take a hit which means there will be delays in supply and a subsequent increase in the waiting time for your new MV Agusta.
