If you can arrange for home charging, the Punch EV is easily the one to go for. Your running costs will be really low, resulting in a significant saving compared to any ICE vehicle.However, if you're keen on getting an ICE vehicle, consider the Tata Altroz diesel which is an excellent car for city and highway use. Also, you'll get a well-equipped variant in your Rs 11-12 lakh budget.Additionally, the diesel engine is very efficient, and unlike CNG vehicles, you won't need to wait in long queues at gas stations either. Also, with your 100-110km daily run, and keeping in mind that most cars deliver around 200-250km of CNG range, you will have to fill gas alternate day which can be inconvenient and rather time consuming.

If you are choosing between a CNG engine and a turbo petrol engine, the decision should be based on your running and usage pattern rather than durability alone. CNG engines are generally more cost-effective for high-mileage users because the fuel cost per kilometre is significantly lower, and modern factory-fitted CNG systems are well integrated and reliable. However, CNG cars do come with compromises such as reduced boot space, slightly lower performance and the inconvenience of refuelling at CNG stations.Turbo petrol engines, on the other hand, offer better performance and driving enjoyment, especially on highways and during overtaking. Fuel efficiency however will be far lower, especially in stop-go conditions. As far as maintenance goes, both routine service costs should be similar. The key point is that CNG only makes financial sense if your annual running is high enough to offset the performance deficit (compared to a comparable petrol engine). If your running is moderate or you value performance and convenience, a turbo petrol engine is the better choice.

Consider the Mahindra XEV 9E for its efficiency, performance, comfort, and user-friendliness. If its size is a bit of a concern for you, you could consider the Hyundai Creta Electric. Sure, the Creta Electric might lack the visual excitement of the Mahindra car, and it also has a smaller battery, however it is a dependable, efficient electric car, one you can't go wrong with.

For your usage, the Skoda Kylaq is a good upgrade. Your 65 km daily expressway run means you need a car that is stable at speed and comfortable over long distances. The Kylaq delivers that very well. At your budget, you could get a lower-spec automatic, which would make it easy to drive in city traffic, which matters for your twice-a-month urban runs. The automatic gearbox is a torque converter, so its shifts are very smooth and it is very reliable too. The only possible downside is that fuel efficiency is not going to be very high, and given your high daily running, this is something that might bother you. If so, opt for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx 1.2L, which is also good at higher speeds and would be more fuel efficient. The auto box in this case is an AMT, which would not be as smooth, but this would only be a bit of a bother in city traffic and not on steady highway cruising.
