Jaguar's long-awaited entry to the luxury EV segment, the I-Pace, was launched in 2021. Taking a monovolume crossover form, it looks futuristic and unlike any other SUV on the market. It's powered by a 90kWh battery, with two motors producing a total of 400hp and 696Nm, and AWD as standard, but is available in three variants, with a number of options for customisation. The company claims a WLTP range of 470km for this luxury electric SUV.

The Jaguar I-Pace does something very few other EVs can, and that's deliver palpable character and driving pleasure. Apart from its striking looks, its power delivery feels progressive and enjoyable, it's got sharp, feelsome steering and even tidy dynamics. Its aluminium construction also helps offset the weight of its battery pack. It scores well on luxury too, delivering lots of tech and a plush interior, but it must be noted that a lot of features you expect to be standard are optional - including air suspension. The tech governing the EV drivetrain is good too, as is the range, which came close to the claimed number in our real-world test. Bear in mind, however, that the I-Pace's swoopy exterior shape means you sit low (like in a sedan) and boot space is limited.
