Nissan revealed recently that it is working on more than one sportscar line-up for the future.

The current Nissan 370Z is powered by a 3.7-litre six-cylinder engine. However, the carmaker's next Z offering could be smaller and powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine.

According to Nissan, the next Z car's character will be slightly different from the current model and its predecessor, although the design has not been finalised yet. The next Z car, like the current one, will get a normal version as well as a sporty Nismo variant.

Nissan also confirmed that there will be a new GT-R model and it will be as brutal as the current one. The manufacturer is also working on a hybrid version of the GT-R sportscar. Nissan has registered a name such as “Race Hybrid” or “R-Hybrid”.  It is also working on a showroom version of the Bladglider which is derived from its Deltawing race car.

The company is reportedly also working on a production version of the Nissan IDx concept which will be inspired by Japanese performance coupes of the '60s and '70s. The Nissan IDx concept was showcased at the last Tokyo Motor show and was well received by the visitors.
