Honda Africa Twin to make India comeback in 2026

2025 Honda Africa Twin

The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is set to make a return to the Indian market in 2026. The big ADV was previously on sale here, but Honda quietly pulled it from the market after BS6 Phase 2 norms kicked in. Now, it's expected to return next year—and this time, it might not be just the Adventure Sports version.

  1. Honda’s Africa Twin now produces slightly more torque
  2. All models now get tubless spoke wheels

Globally the Africa Twin is offered in two variants with different trims

Previously, Honda only offered the Adventure Sports version of the Africa Twin in India, which came with premium kit like a larger 24.8-litre fuel tank, taller suspension, and electronically adjustable suspension in higher-spec trims. While that variant is likely to return, sources suggest Honda could also reintroduce the standard Africa Twin in India.

Compared to the Adventure Sports, the base Africa Twin features a smaller 18.8-litre tank, a shorter windscreen, a 21-inch front wheel, and a lighter overall kerb weight. These changes could make it more accessible in terms of price. Both variants have higher spec trims that come with an electronically adjustable suspension setup.

Both motorcycles are powered by the same 1083cc, liquid-cooled parallel twin that produces 101hp at 7,500rpm and 112Nm at 5,500rpm.  While the base Africa Twin tips the scales at 233kg, the Adventure Sport DCT version weighs in at 253kg. Both variants are available in DCT and manual versions and it remains to be seen what configuration Honda will bring the Africa Twin in this time.
