Renault has begun dispatching the Captur to its dealerships.

Renault has begun dispatching the soon-to-be-launched Captur crossover to its showrooms across India. The crossover will launch in the Indian market on November 6, 2017.

As reported earlier, the Captur for India is based on the M0 platform which also underpins the Duster. It is 4,329mm long, 1,813mm wide and 1,613mm high, and has a wheelbase of 2,673mm. Ground clearance is at 210mm. The Captur for India will come with two engine options, the familiar 1.5-litre K9K diesel good for 110hp which also powers the Renault Duster and the Nissan Terrano, and the 1.5-litre petrol which churns out 106hp and 142Nm of torque.

Safety features on the crossover include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist. Renault has stated that the Captur is also certified for offset frontal and lateral crash.

The Captur line-up will include a number of variants. There will be a fully loaded top-spec variant called Platine which will include features like LED headlamps with daytime running lamps and Audi-like dynamic turn indicators, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Renault will offer a long list of personalisation options for the Captur, which include unique interior and exterior bits like contrast roof options and graphics.

Bookings for the Renault Captur are now officially open.
