2017 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo India launch soon

India-bound Fortuner TRD Sportivo looks identical to the Indonesian-spec model. Thailand-spec Sportivo gets a different alloy wheel design.

Toyota will soon add the rugged-looking TRD Sportivo variant to its Fortuner line-up in India. The Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2WD AT will be priced at Rs 31.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).  Deliveries of this new variant are expected to start soon.

Like the international counterpart, the India-spec Fortuner TRD Sportivo gets blacked-out bits instead of chrome ones as seen on the standard car. There’s an additional body kit replete with side skirts and an extended chin. On this variant, the blacked-out grille extends over the front bumper and merges with the air dam.

Also unique to this variant are the new black and silver alloy wheels. The TRD Sportivo also sports subtle red and black graphics with the 'TRD' logo on the grille and the doors.

The interiors of the TRD Sportivo are all black too, with new floor mats and a few upgrades. Powering the new variant is the same 2.8-litre diesel engine as the standard model, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic.

The Toyota Fortuner takes on the likes of the Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X and the Jeep Compass.

Toyota recently announced additional feature upgrades for the Innova and Fortuner range in India. Get all the details here.
