In September, we had mentioned that Bajaj is planning to launch the Pulsar 220F ABS soon.  Now, an image of the upcoming bike has emerged online. Once launched, the Pulsar 200F will be the third bike in the Pulsar family after the RS 200 and the NS 200 to feature ABS. The Pulsar 220F is likely to feature a single-channel ABS unit as seen on its 200cc siblings. Interestingly, Bajaj has equipped bikes featuring this system with an ABS ring at the back as well, which many mistake for a dual-channel unit. However, the ring at the rear only serves to monitor rear-wheel speed to detect lift, with the front ABS compensating for the lift. Despite its age, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F still remains one of the most popular entry-level motorcycles in the market and the ABS update also hints that Bajaj has no plans to withdraw the 220F from our market anytime soon.

Other than the addition of ABS, the new motorcycle also sports new graphics and we can an underbelly cowl in the pictures. Powering the bike is a 220cc, single-cylinder engine producing 20.9hp and 18.5Nm of torque. The standard non-ABS Pulsar 220F currently sells for Rs 97,446 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bajaj demands a hefty premium of Rs 12,000 for a single-channel ABS on the Pulsar 200cc siblings and if it carries the same premium on the 220F ABS, it could retail for around Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
