  1. KTM 390 Enduro R features the same suspension travel as the 390 Adventure
  2. Priced at Rs 3.37 lakh, it undercuts the 390 Adventure by Rs 31,000
  3. At 177kg, it is 5-6kg lighter than the 390 Adventure

The Enduro R has reduced suspension travel and ground clearance for India

The 390 Enduro R is a dual-sport motorcycle based on the KTM 390 Adventure and 390 Adventure X. It is powered by the same 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled LC4c engine as the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure that makes the same 46hp and 39Nm.

For India, Bajaj has used the same suspension setup and travel as the 390 Adventure range, resulting in a lower suspension travel of 200mm/205mm (F/R) as compared to the model sold overseas, which gets 230mm at both ends. This alteration has also lowered the seat height to a more approachable 860mm versus 890mm. The ground clearance has been reduced from 272mm in the overseas model to 253mm for the India version.

The main frame and swingarm are shared with the 390 Adventure. Braking duties are handled by a smaller 285mm front rotor, whereas the rear 240mm rotor is shared with the 390 Adventure.

Other than these differences, the 390 Enduro R looks just like the overseas model; it sports minimal bodywork and is a rather slender machine. Thanks to a small 9-litre fuel tank that merges in the single-piece seat, the 390 Enduro R weighs 177kg – 5-6kg lighter than the 390 Adventure models.

Priced at Rs 3.37 lakh, the KTM 390 Enduro R slots right between the KTM 390 Adventure X and the 390 Adventure. Owing to its off-road-oriented nature, the KTM 390 Enduro R rivals the lighter and less powerful Kawasaki KLX230. Bajaj has also announced that the international-spec model will be available a few months down the line.
