KTM 390 Adventure S launch in India, price, features

KTM India has, via social media, announced that it will be ‘revealing more details’ about the new 390 Adventure S on January 30. However, the company has not specified whether this will be a launch or if the bike’s specifications will be out on that date.

  1. The 390 Adventure S gets tubeless spoked wheels, adjustable suspension
  2. Will debut a new frame and swingarm
  3. It's likely to be priced in the Rs 3.50 lakh ballpark (ex-showroom)

KTM’s new 390 Adventure line-up will have three variants: the base X, middle S and top R. Of these, the first two are confirmed to be coming to India, and KTM’s social media post leads us to believe that the 390 Adventure S will be launched in India on January 30. The bike was first showcased at last year’s IBW festival, although its specifications weren’t revealed. And since the bike has already been showcased, we expect its launch on January 30.

What we could deduce from the showcase is that the bike runs on 21/17-inch tubeless wire-spoked rims, has adjustable suspension at both ends and will come with cruise control as standard. It also gets new, slimmer bodywork, very angular styling, and is shod with Apollo dual-purpose tyres. The same 5-inch TFT display, seen on the 390 Duke, is also seen on the Adventure S, and we expect it to carry over riding aids such as riding modes, traction control, and switchable ABS.

The current middle 390 Adventure variant is priced at Rs 3.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it remains to be seen what pricing strategy Bajaj will adopt when the 390 Adventure S is launched.
