The Speed Triple's engine is now rated for 183hp and 128Nm of torque, up by 3hp and 3Nm.

The rest of the specifications of the bike stay the same, except the weight, which has increased by a kilo to 199kg.

The bike's wheelie control can now be adjusted independently of the traction control.

The Speed Triple 1200 RS now uses electronically-controlled Ohlins suspension at both ends.

The updated Speed Triple 1200 RS now runs on Pirelli Supercorsa V3 tyres, whereas the earlier bike shipped with Metzeler Racetec RR rubber.

The Speed Triple now also comes standard with a steering damper, a useful addition on a machine that can hoist its front wheel rather easily.
