The Tesla Model Y is American EV giant’s first model in India that comes as a full import. The Tesla Model Y is available in two variants – Standard and Long Range. The Standard version of the Model Y gets a WLTP range of up to 500km, while the Long Range variant has a WLTP-certified range of 622km. Tesla will set up 16 Superchargers in India, with eight initial ones coming up in and around Mumbai and Delhi. The Model Y has arrived in India in its latest facelifted guise that was revealed in January this year. And in typical Tesla fashion, both exterior and interior design are very understated. The interior, in fact, is completely devoid of any stylistic elements or physical controls and is just dominated by a large 15.4-inch touchscreen. Tesla is providing a 4-year or 80,000km warranty, whichever is earlier, on the entire vehicle. Meanwhile, the battery and drive unit come with an 8-year or 1,92,000km warranty, whichever is earlier.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is a direct ICE-to-EV conversion of the regular Carens Clavis MPV, and under the skin, it is closely related to the Hyundai Creta Electric. The Clavis EV gets two battery pack options – a 42kWh unit with an ARAI-claimed range of 404km and a 51.4kWh unit with an ARAI-certified range of 490km. The smaller battery pack powers a 135hp electric motor, while the larger battery pack gets a 171hp unit. In terms of exterior and interior design, not a lot has changed from the ICE-powered Carens Clavis, save for some EV-specific updates. On the equipment front, the Carens Clavis EV gets twin 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a switchable touch-sensitive panel for HVAC and media controls, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, a panoramic sunroof and a wireless phone charger.
