The 2026 Tata Tiago EV price in India starts at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom); a battery-as-a-service option is also available. First launched here in 2022, the Tiago EV is the entry-level Tata electric car for the Indian market. To keep the Tiago EV fresh and relevant, Tata launched a facelift of the electric hatchback in 2026. The facelifted Tiago EV continues to rival the MG Comet EV.

2026 Tata Tiago EV on road price starts from  Rs 7.31 lakh. The 2026 Tata Tiago EV is sold in 4 variants across 3 trim levels: Smart, Pure+, and Creative+. The Tiago EV continues with two battery pack choices: 19.2kWh and 24kWh. The motor paired to the smaller battery produces 62hp and 110Nm, while the one paired to the larger battery pack develops 75hp and 114Nm. Per ARAI testing, the claimed Tata Tiago EV range is 226km-285km.

With the 3.3kW charger, the 19.2kWh battery takes 6.9 hours to go from 10 to 100 percent, while the larger 24kWh pack takes 8.7 hours. With the faster 7.2kW AC charger, those times drop to 2.6 hours for the 19.2kWh battery and 3.6 hours for the 24kWh pack. The Tata Tiago EV also supports DC fast charging. With a 30kW DC fast charger, both battery packs can go from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. The 20 to 80 percent top-up takes 30 minutes for both the 19.2kWh and 24kWh packs.

On the outside, the 2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift introduces substantial updates such as sharper headlamps, revised bumpers, fresh alloy wheel designs, and a closed-off grille section. There are 6 colour options for the 2026 Tiago EV as well. The Tiago EV facelift interior gets a revamped dashboard layout, updated steering wheel and centre console, a standalone digital driver’s display, and a rotary gear selector.

As for features, the 2026 Tiago EV facelift offers a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, automatic climate control, a 4-speaker sound system, rear AC vents, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and more.

Tata Tiago EV Safety Features

The pre-facelift Tata Tiago EV safety rating was 4 stars as per Global NCAP testing, and since the updated model is structurally identical, it’s expected to be the same in this regard too. Additionally, the 2026 Tiago EV safety features include standard 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESC, a blind spot monitor, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree camera, hill hold control, follow-me-home headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and more.

Tata Tiago EV FAQs

The Tiago EV is a great choice for those who need a compact, affordable electric car that’s easy to manoeuvre in the city and has a long list of features.

The USPs of the Tiago EV include compact dimensions that are perfect for the city, and a comfortable and feature-packed interior.

The claimed range figures of the Tiago EV make it best suited for urban commutes. Long highway trips may require you to recharge the battery mid-journey.

While it’s billed as a 5-seater, the Tiago EV’s interior is best suited for 4 occupants.

The Tiago EV delivers a comfortable ride that does well to shield occupants from sharp bumps and undulations.

The 24kWh Tata Tiago EV offers a warranty of 15 years from the first date of registration to the first owner, with unlimited kilometres covered. For second and later owners, the standard warranty is 8 years or 1,60,000km, whichever comes first.

If your usage is strictly within city limits and you can afford the higher price tag, the Tiago EV is the one to go for as it's more refined, easier to drive, and costs less to run. However, the Tiago ICE is better if you need to go on highway trips.

Hi Autocar Team, I currently own a 2016 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz diesel, which I plan to keep for highway trips, long-distance travel and as a backup vehicle. I am looking to buy a second car purely as a city EV for Chennai, with a budget of around Rs 15 lakh on-road, though I can stretch slightly if justified. My typical usage includes daily city driving, client meetings, airport runs and occasional family outings. I drive around 10,000km per year and usually keep my cars for 7-9 years or until they reach around 1 lakh kilometres. My priorities are: ride comfort and suspension, reliability over 7-9 years, battery warranty and long-term ownership confidence, service network and availability of parts, ease of driving and parking in city traffic, resale value after 7-9 years, and real-world range of at least 300km. I have already test-driven several EVs, including the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta EV, Kia Carens EV, MG ZS EV, Maruti e Vitara and VinFast VF 6. While I liked the Mahindra and VinFast products, I am now wondering whether a smaller and more affordable EV makes more sense since I already have the Ciaz for highway duties. Which EV would you recommend as the best secondary city car for long-term ownership in India today? Would you choose the Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV, MG Windsor EV or another option altogether? Looking forward to your advice.

Pick the Tata Nexon EV 45kWh. For a Chennai city car, it rides over broken roads better than most, slips into tight parking spaces, and still delivers over 300km on a single charge. You already have the Ciaz for highway duties, so the Nexon EV’s size, light steering and good visibility make daily client visits and airport runs stress-free.For long-term ownership, Tata’s EV footprint is the widest in India today, with parts and service support across most cities, and the 8-year/1.6 lakh km battery warranty aligns well with your 7-9 year ownership plan. The battery chemistry also handles heat well, which matters in Chennai. Running costs remain low, and strong demand should help resale values compared to many other EVs.The Punch EV and Tiago EV are good options too, but they will fall well short of your requirement of 300km-plus on a single charge. The MG Windsor EV is worth considering if you want a more spacious cabin, though its real-world range is not as strong as the Nexon EV’s.One honest niggle: Tata’s service quality can be inconsistent, so make sure you choose a good dealer with a strong reputation.

I currently have a Tiago XZA 2019 model, but I am the 3rd owner. I am considering buying a Tiago EV 2025 model as it is available at discounted prices. What do you think? Will it be a sound financial decision?

The Tata Tiago EV is a good option if most of your usage is within city limits and you have the option to install a charger at your home or workplace. Range is comfortable for intra-city commutes, but it's not the ideal long-distance car. You'll find the Tiago EV far superior to your current Tiago in performance, smoothness and refinement. At the same time, the EV retains the easy-to-drive nature, tough build and comfortable ride of the Tiago petrol.

I have a 2016 Hyundai Grand i10 Sportz. My daily running is about 20km and 100km on weekends. Now I want to go for either the Tata Tiago EV or the Punch EV. My budget is Rs 12 lakh. Please suggest the better option.

The Tata Tiago EV is more affordable, easier to live with in the city and offers enough range for your usage pattern. Also, being more compact, it will be easier to park and maneuver. But the Punch EV is a more premium product with better ground clearance, and thanks to its SUV-like stance, getting in and out is very easy. Between the two, the Punch EV's performance is better and so is its range. So, even though it is a bit more expensive, we'd suggest you pick the Punch EV.

I am planning to buy the Tata Tiago EV Creative+ 24 kWh after comparing it with the Tata Punch EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG Windsor EV. I have to travel around 70 km per day, of which 7-10 km is within the city. What is your review of this? Is it worth buying?

Verified

For a 70km daily commute with only 7-10km of city driving, the Tata Tiago EV Creative+ 24kWh is a sensible and cost-effective choice. The Tiago EV is one of the most affordable EVs on the market, and its 24kWh battery is well suited to your usage pattern. With a daily round trip of 70km, you will be using roughly 30-40% of the battery per day, depending on driving style and AC usage, which means you can comfortably charge at home overnight without range anxiety becoming an issue. The Tiago EV is also compact and easy to manoeuvre, which is useful for the city portion of your commute, and its running costs are significantly lower than petrol or diesel alternatives. Compared to the Punch EV, Nexon EV and MG Windsor, the Tiago EV is the most budget-friendly option in electric cars. The Punch EV offers a higher driving position and more ground clearance, but it comes at a higher price and is not necessary for your usage. The Nexon EV and Windsor EV are larger and more expensive, and their extra space and features are unlikely to justify the additional cost for your daily commute. The only real drawback of the Tiago EV is its relatively small boot and basic interior compared to more expensive EVs, but for a daily commuter car, these are minor compromises. Overall, the Tiago EV Creative+ 24kWh is a practical and financially sound choice for your needs.

Please suggest an affordable EV. My usage is around 100 km per month.

Verified

With just 100km a month, an electric car is unlikely to make financial sense for you. The fuel savings are too small to offset the higher purchase price, and you will not be using the car enough to justify the investment in a battery-powered vehicle. At this usage level, a simple, reliable petrol car is the better choice. Something like a Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 or a Celerio will be far more affordable to buy, cheap to maintain and perfectly suited to your low running. But if you are set on an EV, the Tata Tiago EV is your best option, but be aware that at your usage, the cost savings will be negligible. The smarter decision is to go petrol and keep your ownership costs low.
