FAQs
Trending Questions on Mahindra Cars - Answered by Autocar Experts
I currently own a Kia Seltos (2023) Petrol HTX IVT, which I drive 75-80 km daily, and a Maruti Ciaz (2019) Alpha AT, which I use for 30 km daily. I’m planning to sell the Ciaz, use the Seltos for the 30km commute, and buy a hybrid or EV for my 80 km daily office drive. Between the MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE6 Pack 1, and Toyota Hyryder Hybrid, which would be the better choice? My budget is around ₹20-22 lakh.
Hi Autocar Team, I’m looking for a 1.5-litre diesel manual car suitable for both city and highway driving. I prefer diesel for its mileage and highway performance. I’ve shortlisted the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX7L and the Hyundai Venue HX7 diesel manual. The Venue looks great and has good road presence, but misses out on features like all four disc brakes, leatherette seats, and the panoramic screen available in the top variant. On the other hand, the 3XO AX7L is fully loaded. I plan to keep the car for the long term. Which one would you recommend?
I want to buy a new car for my dad. His daily run is 50 km, occasionally 150-200 km, plus two village trips of about 1,600 km round trip. He wants an SUV under ₹10 lakh. Please suggest at least two options and the recommended variant.
I’m a first-time car buyer with a budget of ₹11-12 lakh. I need a 5-seater family car with good mileage, comfort, and low maintenance over 10 years. I’ve shortlisted the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, and Nissan Magnite. The Magnite has most of the important features and Nissan service feedback is good in Hyderabad; the Nexon seems to offer the least kit, while the XUV 3XO may compromise mileage. Should I choose the Magnite (is it too underpowered?), or pick one of the others?
While the Nissan Magnite is a good choice, the XUV 3XO would be the better buy. It has a better rear seat with more space and has a more comfortable ride between the two. The engine is also smoother and has good performance. Efficiency will not be too far off from the Magnite, so it's worth the premium.
Which SUV should I buy within a ₹20 lakh budget? I’m looking for a powerful SUV that’s safe, fuel-efficient, and suitable for a family of five.
I want to buy a new 7-seater car. My driving will mainly be in the city with occasional highway trips. I need a car with decent cabin space, good boot capacity, and some useful features. I’m considering the Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar. Should I go for the XUV700, or is it worth waiting for its facelift?
I’m a first-time car buyer working in sales, so mileage and low maintenance are important. I drive ≈800 km/month (half city, half highway) and need space for weekend trips with a family of five. My budget is ₹15 lakh on-road and I prefer better ground clearance due to bad roads and potholes. Which automatic car should I buy?
You can consider a Maruti Brezza for its efficient engine and spacious cabin. Its suspension feels well-suited to tackle bad roads. The turbo petrol offerings at this price point are very sensitive to driving style, hence they might not be as fuel-efficient. Out of the turbo options, an XUV3XO 1.2 Turbo MPFI with a 6-speed torque converter automatic is a very good option.
I’m looking to upgrade to a new car. My monthly usage is around 1,000 km, mainly for city commuting as a college student. My budget is ₹10-15 lakh, and I’m considering the Mahindra Thar 4x2 or the new Hyundai Venue diesel.
I currently drive an Ertiga Diesel and need guidance on buying a new car. My requirements: a 6/7-seater petrol automatic with a budget of ₹20 lakh, city mileage of at least two digits, and annual running of about 15,000 km (daily office run ~12 km). I want a car that’s fun to drive. I’m avoiding diesel due to potential future restrictions - what are your views on diesel in Delhi-NCR? I personally like the Scorpio N Z8 S. Please advise.
The Scorpio N isn’t the best 6/7-seater as its third row is cramped, and with all rows up, even a soft bag barely fits in the boot. Its 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine isn’t very efficient either, with double-digit city mileage being rare. The Kia Carens Clavis HTK Plus (O) makes much more sense - it’s a better 7-seater, has a sufficiently powerful turbo-petrol engine, is more efficient than the Mahindra, and is easier to drive and park as well.
My budget is ₹25-26 lakh and I’m not sure which car to buy. I’m open to petrol, petrol-hybrid, or diesel. I’ll use the car daily for long drives, city commuting, and family trips. Please advise which car I should buy.
The Mahindra XUV700 in diesel guise is a good option to consider. The diesel engine is smooth, refined and performs well on the highways, but at the same time, the refinement in the city is also very good. In your budget, you can also get a smooth automatic gearbox with the seven-seat variant. The big boot is great for long trips, and overall, it is a very good package.
