My father is planning to buy a new car and, after extensive research, he has finalized the Honda Elevate ADV DT (automatic). However, we are wondering if it would be worth waiting for the new Renault Duster before making the final decision. We are based in Nagpur and currently drive a 2011 Swift diesel. Our running is not very high, so we are now preferring a petrol automatic for better ease of driving and convenience. We test drove the Honda Elevate, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta, and he liked the Elevate the most. He especially appreciated the seating stance and felt it offered a proper SUV-like driving position and commanding feel, whereas the others, although feature-rich, didnโ€™t give him the same SUV feel. Our priorities are comfort, reliability, ease of driving in city traffic, and a strong SUV-like feel. Would it be worth waiting for the new Renault Duster, or is the Elevate CVT a good choice to proceed with?

If your father likes the Honda Elevate, he should go ahead with it. It's a practical, reliable, no-nonsense SUV that gets its fundamentals absolutely right; it merely lacks a bit of flash value compared to rivals. It perfectly suits your requirements of comfort, reliability, ease of driving around town, and SUV-like feel. Moreover, it's got one of the best naturally aspirated petrol engines in the segment, which is equal parts efficient, relaxed and fun, and it's mated to a smooth CVT automatic.
As for the Renault Duster, it does seem like a good choice on paper. It does fulfill your requirements of a tall seating stance and commanding feel, but other than that, it is an unknown quantity - especially in terms of ease of city driving and reliability. We would recommend going ahead with the Honda Elevate.

I am planning to buy a bigger car which has features, is not underpowered and gives good mileage. Should I go for Hyryder or Victoris Strong Hybrid, or wait for Honda Elevate Strong Hybrid or Duster Strong Hybrid?

Between the Maruti Victoris and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the choice also comes down to brand preference, as underneath both cars are almost identical, sharing a similar powertrain, chassis and fuel efficiency.
That said, as a product, the Victoris feels newer. It has better quality interiors, offers more safety and convenience features, and has also secured a 5-star BNCAP rating. With both cars being similarly priced, the Victoris comes across as a better value overall.
If you are willing to wait until Diwali this year, we would also suggest keeping an eye on the new Renault Duster Hybrid. Its hybrid system works differently from the Toyota Maruti setup and is expected to feel more natural to drive, with stronger performance as well.
As for the Honda Elevate, we do not expect a hybrid version to be launched. Honda is likely to focus more on its EV plans for India instead.

Which naturally aspirated car is best under โ‚น16.5 lakh?

There are quite a few options that fall under your budget. However, without knowing your exact requirements, it will be hard to recommend one. That being said, Honda's 121hp, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine is one of the best around and stands out for its peppy nature and strong high-rev performance. This engine is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic in the Honda City sedan (โ‚น11.95 lakh - 16.07 lakh) and the Honda Elevate SUV (โ‚น11.60 lakh - 16.57 lakh), ex-showroom.
Alternatively, there's Maruti's 103hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine that can be found in a number of models and its known for its relaxed nature and fuel efficiency. Hyundai's 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol unit is also another option that can be found in a number of Hyundai-Kia models, and it impresses with its refinement.

Hi, I want to buy a small SUV in the price range of Rs 12 to 15 lakh, with high ground clearance and a high seating position. I am confused between the Kylaq and the Elevate. Please suggest. Thanks.

The choice between the two really comes down to what you want in your car. Since you already have a mid-size vehicle, the Skoda Kylaq would be a good option.
The car sits in the compact segment, which is a length of less than 4 meters, so it would be a good option to have for city drives. Moreover, the gearbox is a torque convertor which is the smoothest type of autobox around.
If, however, you want your second car to also offer you more interior space, then the Honda Elevate is the better choice, being the bigger of the two.

Asked by: Bobby John Johnon Jan 30, 2026

I am looking to purchase a new mid-SUV with a budget of around โ‚น15 lakh, preferably automatic. I am not very keen on tech features. Is the Honda Elevate a good choice, or should I consider the Mahindra XUV 3XO REVX, AX5, or AX7? Please advise.

Between the two, Honda Elevate is a better bet because of its very reliable engine and larger cabin. Honda dealers are offering some good discounts on the Elevate, so you can negotiate a good price for yourself.

Elevate has a very spacious cabin, but the cabin quality is not as premium as other products in the segment. If you are open to other choices, we suggest you check out the Kia Seltos 1.5 Petrol IVT and the Hyundai Creta 1.5 Petrol IVT. These offer a much better overall cabin experience.

My car usage is hardly 300km per month. I am planning to buy a new vehicle since my current car is 15 years old. I am 68 yrs of age and drive myself. I mostly do city driving. Which car should I buy? My budget is anything between 14 and 17 lakh.

The Honda Elevate would be a good choice for you, given your usage and requirements. It is equipped with a smooth 1.5-litre petrol engine with the option of a convenient CVT gearbox that is perfect for city drives.
The seats are comfortable, and the suspension performs well over bumps and bad roads. The seat height makes getting in and out easy, without much crouching or discomfort. The V CVT offers a well-appointed interior with the necessary features, and the Honda badge brings with it peace of mind and reliability.

Asked by: Mmmon Jan 23, 2026

Which is better: Honda Elevate ZX automatic or Toyota Hyryder V petrol automatic?

The Honda Elevate is the better of the two. The biggest difference is in the powertrain. Hondaโ€™s 1.5 litre is far superior to the Toyota Hyryderโ€™s Maruti-sourced 1.5 litre engine. Plus, the Honda car is more spacious, has a large boot, and is nicer to drive. Both cars are very reliable and are backed by good service. Overall, the Elevate is our pick.

Asked by: Sanjay Pandayon Jan 22, 2026

I am considering buying the Honda Elevate CVT. I drive approx 10,000 KM a year max. Of this, 90% is in the city and the rest on highways. I understand that the Elevate is not the most popular compact SUV, but my research tells me it may be a value buy. I am not a fan of too many gadgets, as most people never end up using all that they pay for. And the attraction goes off once the car gets a bit old. Hence, I would rather save on frills and focus on reliability, mileage, and safety. What is your take on this car?

Since you aren't a fan of too many gadgets in your car, the Honda Elevate makes sense for you. This SUV is spacious, comfortable, and easy to drive, especially with the CVT automatic. Being a Honda car, it will also be reliable and give you that peace of mind.
The only downside is that the petrol engine is not the most efficient. In our time with the Honda Elevate CVT, we managed between 10-11kpl in the city, which is decent. On the whole, the Honda Elevate is an SUV thatโ€™s got the fundamentals right, and while itโ€™s a frill-free SUV, itโ€™s a fuss-free one, too.

Hi team, I have been using a Baleno Delta MT for the past 9 years and am now looking to change my car. My preference is a midsize SUV with an automatic transmission. My budget is around Rs 15 lakh. Please suggest a good option.

If you want to buy a midsize SUV, we would suggest stretching your budget slightly, as the automatic versions of the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos sit just above this price point.
Among these, the recently launched Seltos HTE(O) CVT stands out as the best pick. While the model itself is new, the 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with the CVT automatic is a proven and reliable powertrain that has been in use across earlier Seltos models and several Hyundai cars for years.
This Kia car also offers good space and a comfortable ride, and even the lower HTE(O) variant is well-equipped with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and a 60:40 split folding rear seat.

I am looking for a mid-size SUV under Rs 17 lakh and have narrowed it down to the Honda Elevate and the new Kia Seltos. Most of my driving will be on highways, and I prefer a manual transmission. Which one should I choose?

Between the two options, you can go ahead with the Kia Seltos, the HTK(O) MT variant. The new Seltos is longer and wider than the Elevate, giving you more space. It is also better equipped than Elevate.
Elevate's noise insulation is not the best in the segment, and a fair amount of engine noise and road noise enters the cabin, which can be bothersome on highway journeys.
