Maruti Suzuki finally launched the e Vitara on February 17, 2026, over a year after showcasing it for the first time at the Auto Expo 2025. While customer deliveries of Maruti’s maiden EV have commenced, they will be constrained till July 2026, said the company’s senior executive officer – marketing and sales, Partho Banerjee, on the sidelines of the car’s launch. So, we called up our dealer sources to find out the e Vitara’s waiting period. If you are interested in this EV, here’s how long you will have to wait.

Maruti e Vitara waiting period details
Waiting period for all e Vitara variants is the same
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is offered in three trims, namely Delta, Zeta and Alpha and our dealership sources revealed that there is a standard waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks (about 1.5 to 2 months) across the range. They also mentioned that customers are preferring the entry-level Delta more than the Zeta or Alpha options.
The Delta trim comes with a 49kWh battery pack mated with a front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces 144hp and 193Nm. The mid-spec Zeta and top-spec Alpha get a bigger 61kWh battery pack paired with a 174hp/198Nm electric motor. The ARAI-rated range is 440km for the 49kWh pack and 543km for the 61kWh unit.
Waiting period is longer for some e Vitara colours
The e Vitara is available in seven colour options – Nexa Blue, Arctic White, Bluish Black, Grandeur Grey, Land Breeze Green, Opulent Red and Splendid Silver. Of these Arctic White, Land Breeze Green, Splendid Silver and Opulent Red are also available as dual-tone options with a Bluish Black roof. Among these, Opulent Red (both monotone and dual-tone) and Bluish Black have a higher waiting period of up to 2 months (about 8-9 weeks), while others will make you wait for about 1.5 months (about 6-7 weeks).
Maruti’s first EV also comes with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, which lowers the upfront cost substantially, as the battery is offered at a per kilometre subscription cost of Rs 3.99 or Rs 4.39, depending on the battery pack. While specific numbers have not been revealed, dealer sources stated that people have shown interest in the BaaS scheme, mainly due to the lower down payment.
While the e Vitara’s ex-showroom price, inclusive of the battery pack, ranges from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 20.01 lakh, under the BaaS scheme, the upfront cost exclusive of the battery subscription fee is much lower at Rs 10.99 lakh to Rs 14.51 lakh. The e Vitara locks horns with the MG Windsor EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Vinfast VF6, MG ZS EV and Tata Curvv EV.
