2026 Volkswagen Tayron R-Line: All you need to know
Will borrow a lot of features from the smaller Tiguan R-Line

The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line will rival the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster in India and is expected to be priced at around Rs 50 lakh. It marks Volkswagen’s return to the 3-row full-size SUV space in our market after the Tiguan AllSpace’s discontinuation in 2021.
The Tayron R-Line is built on the 5-seater Tiguan R-Line’s MQB EVO platform but gets a 109mm longer wheelbase, measuring 2,789mm. It will be powered by the same 2-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Tiguan, producing 204hp and 320Nm. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox sends power to all the wheels of the SUV.

The 3-row SUV also looks similar to the Tiguan R-Line but has distinct lighting elements. Inside, it will feature slightly different front-row seats with a ventilation function, a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof and 30-colour ambient lighting. A 3-zone climate control system is also likely.
Its safety suite is expected to comprise 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, Level 2 ADAS and an electronic parking brake.
