Volkswagen Tayron R-Line price
Priced close to the 5-seater Tiguan R-Line sibling
Despite being a larger SUV with an additional row of seats, the Tayron costs just Rs 1.26 lakh more than the 5-seat Tiguan. However, the price gap with the 3-row version of its Skoda Kodiaq sibling, is much wider at Rs 3.23 lakh. Moreover, the Kodiaq is also offered as a 5-seater.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line powertrain
Gets the same engine as the Skoda Kodiaq and VW Tiguan R-Line

The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line is powered by a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 204hp and 320Nm, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) that sends power to all wheels (AWD). The same engine is offered with the 5-seater Tiguan R-Line and the Skoda Kodiaq.
With all these numbers, the Tayron R-Line completes a 0-100kph run in a claimed 7.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 224kph.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line exterior design
Gets revised lighting elements but same 19-inch alloy wheels

At first glance, the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line looks similar to the 5-seat Tiguan, especially because of its boxy proportions and aggressive creases. But a closer look reveals a handful of design differences.
The Tayron R-Line has redesigned Matrix LED headlights and a revised centrepiece with an LED light bar. The LED tail-light elements have also been tweaked, and there are illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear. However, the Tayron R-Line’s 19-inch alloy wheels, gloss-black cladding on the wheel arches and R-Line badges are the same as the Tiguan R-Line’s. While both models are built on the same MQB EVO platform, the 3-row Tayron R-Line has a 109mm longer wheelbase. Here are its dimensions:

The seats come wrapped in leatherette upholstery, and adjustable headrests are offered for all passengers.
