Vinfast VF7 Bharat NCAP side pole test

Bharat NCAP announced today that the Vinfast VF7 has received a 5-star safety rating in its crash tests. Interestingly, BNCAP says the tests were conducted in November 2025, just two months after its prices were announced. The 5-star rating for adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupancy protection (COP) is valid for all five VF7 variants – Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity.

  1. Vinfast VF7’s COP score is higher than Harrier EV and XEV 9e
  2. Vinfast India had announced it was targeting a 5-star rating for its eSUVs

The VF7 scored 28.54 points out of a maximum of 32 points in AOP.

The VF7’s 5-star AOP rating comes from scoring 28.54 out of 32 points in BNCAP’s tests. The Vietnamese brand’s EV scored 12.54/16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, with points removed as the driver’s chest area saw weak protection; the driver and front passenger's shins saw adequate protection. However, the VF7 scored a full 16/16 in the side movable deformable barrier test, and was rated as OK in the side pole impact test.

Vinfast VF7 child occupant protection test results

The VF7 scored 45.25 points out of a 49-point maximum in COP.

The EV has an impressive dynamic score of 23.25/24, a full 12/12 for child restraint system (CRS) installation, and a 10/13 in vehicle assessment, totaling 45.25 points. Interestingly, the VF7 betters its rivals’ score in this area by 0.25 points.

Vinfast VF7 safety features

It gets 7 airbags, Isofix child seat anchors, ESC, and more as standard.

Considering the VF7 gets 7 airbags, Isofix child seat anchors, ESC, and more as standard, and the fact that it is sold in markets with stringent safety standards, the 5-star rating isn’t surprising. A few months before the launch of the VF6 and VF7, Vinfast had said it was targeting a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for both its models.
