Tata Motors has sold over 71,000 passenger cars in January 2026, its highest-ever monthly sales. Of these, 822 units were sold in international markets, while the remaining 70,222 units were sold in India. Also, the Tata Nexon nameplate, including both ICE and EV versions, recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of over 23,000 units.

January 2026 sales are 47 percent more than the December 2025 numbers
Tata Motors’s January 2026 passenger vehicle sales surged 47.1 percent from December 2025’s 48,316 units. Of the 71,044 units sold, 9,052 were EVs, a 72.7 percent growth over December 2025.
Nexon, Punch clocked their highest-ever monthly sales
The Tata Nexon and Punch nameplates witnessed record sales as well. With over 19,000 units sold in January 2026 – the highest ever in a month – the Tata Punch crossed cumulative sales of 7 lakh, which, as per Tata Motors, is the fastest for the industry.
Tata also sold over 23,000 units of the Nexon in January 2026, with which the SUV crossed the 10 lakh cumulative sales milestone. Not just this, the Tiago hatchback’s cumulative sales also crossed 7 lakh units.
According to the manufacturer, new launches, including the Sierra, the petrol versions of the Harrier and Safari, as well as the facelifted Punch, are seeing a lot of customer interest. Tata Motors has also progressively ramped up Sierra’s production to meet customer demand.
