Nissan Triber-twin to debut on December 18

Nissan has confirmed that its rival to the Renault Triber will debut in India on December 18. In 2023, the Japanese manufacturer announced its plans for a new B-segment MPV, a glimpse of which was shown in March 2025. The MPV will be built on the CMF-A platform shared with the Triber and hence is expected to be largely similar to its Renault model, but with certain cosmetic changes inside and out.

  1. New Nissan B-MPV likely to be called the Gravite
  2. Exterior and interior design to be subtly different from Triber
  3. It’ll get the same 1.0-litre NA engine as Triber, Magnite and Kiger

Upcoming Nissan compact MPV: All we know so far

New bumpers and alloy wheels confirmed

Nissan’s Triber twin to debut on December 18

The upcoming Nissan MPV could be called the Gravite, as the manufacturer filed a trademark for the name in 2023. The new teaser image reveals that its exterior design will be similar to that of the Renault Triber. The noticeable difference, however, is a redesigned bumper with some silver trim. The MPV could also get a new grille and fresh alloy wheels.

The headlight units look the same, but Nissan might offer the MPV with distinct lighting elements to distinguish it from its Renault counterpart. It is also expected to get a distinct rear bumper and tail-light elements. Otherwise, everything else, including the sculpted bonnet and roof rails, looks similar to the Triber.

A new cabin theme with Triber’s design expected

While the Nissan MPV’s cabin is yet to be revealed, we can expect it to look similar to the one in the Triber, which features a layered dashboard design and a 3-spoke steering wheel. The Nissan offering could have a different interior theme from Renault’s grey-and-black combination.

The feature list is expected to be similar as well, with a 7-inch semi-digital driver’s display, an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless phone charger, push-button start/stop and manual AC with dedicated vents for second- and third-row passengers. Its safety suite could include 6 airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start assist, a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a rear parking camera.

Will borrow the Triber’s 1-litre petrol engine

The Nissan MPV will be powered by the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 76hp and 95Nm, offered on the Triber and the lower-spec trims of the Magnite and Kiger. As with all these models, it will be available with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Like the Triber, the Nissan MPV could also offer a CNG powertrain option, fitted at dealerships.

Upcoming Nissan compact MPV: Expected prices

Ex-showroom prices expected to be similar to Triber’s

As with the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger, the prices of Nissan’s new MPV are expected to be similar to those of its Renault competitor. The Triber’s ex-showroom prices range between Rs 5.76 lakh and Rs 8.60 lakh.
