Nissan Gravite

Nissan has officially confirmed that its upcoming compact three-row MPV for India will be called the Gravite. The model is part of the brand’s renewed product offensive for the Indian market and is scheduled to make its market debut in January 2026, followed by price announcement in March 2026.

The Gravite is based on the Renault Triber and thus uses the same CMF-A+ platform, likely carrying forward its powertrain as well. It will sit below the Magnite in Nissan’s line-up and rival the Triber directly, targeting buyers looking for an affordable compact 7-seater.

  2. Exterior and interior to get subtle changes over the Renault Triber
  3. Likely to use the same 1.0-litre NA engine as Triber, Magnite and Kiger

The teaser images shown at the brand event outline the Gravite’s styling direction. The MPV retains the Triber’s silhouette and overall proportions but gets a distinct Nissan look with a redesigned front bumper, a new grille, and fresh alloy wheel designs.

The headlamps carry over the Triber’s shape, but Nissan has applied new lighting elements to set the model apart. At the rear, the Gravite features a reworked bumper and new tail-lamp signatures, along with the Gravite nameplate spelled out prominently on the tailgate. The Gravite stays under the sub-4-metre mark.

Although the interior has not been revealed, the Gravite will likely use the same dashboard and steering wheel layout as the Triber. However, Nissan is expected to differentiate the MPV with its own colour theme, and feature packaging.

Features are likely to include a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging, push-button start/stop, and manual AC with vents for the second and third rows.

Safety equipment could include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, hill-start assist, TPMS, and a rear-view camera.

The Gravite is expected to use the 1.0-litre petrol engine that produces 76hp and 95Nm, the same unit found in the Renault Triber and the lower variants of the Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger. Gearbox options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

A CNG version could also be offered later, likely as a dealer-fitted option, similar to the Triber.

Nissan will fully unveil the Gravite in January 2026, giving a complete look at the MPV’s design, features and interior. This will be followed by a larger brand event in February 2026, where Nissan will outline its wider product plans for India.

The Gravite’s price announcement and launch will take place in March 2026, after which the MPV will reach showrooms.
