Skoda has announced prices for a new lower-spec variant of the Kylaq compact SUV – called Classic – and a new top-spec trim variant, called Prestige+. Skoda Kylaq Classic+ features
Gets manual and automatic gearbox options, unlike the base Kylaq Classic.
Over the base Classic variant, the new Kylaq Classic+ will get features like an electric sunroof, auto-dimming inside rear view mirror, automatic wipers, cruise control and steering-mounted controls. It costs Rs 66,000 more than the Kylaq Classic MT's Rs 7.59 lakh. Interestingly, unlike the entry-level variant, the Classic+ will be offered with automatic (Rs 9.25 lakh) and manual gearbox options for the 115hp 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This means that the entry price of the Kylaq automatic is now Rs 85,000 less than before.
Skoda Kylaq Signature, Signature+ new features
Sunroof, rear and auto wipers, and paddle shifters will be added.
The mid-spec Kylaq Signature and Signature+ variants will get a few features from the top-spec Prestige trims. These include a sunroof, a rear wiper, auto wipers, and paddle shifters for the automatic versions. Prices for the Signature variants have increased from Rs 9.1 lakh-10.1 lakh to Rs 9.43 lakh-10.43 lakh, while the Signature+ variants now cost Rs 10.77 lakh-11.77 lakh, up from Rs 10.44 lakh-11.44 lakh.
Skoda Kylaq Sportline and Prestige+ variants explained
Sportline will be a sportier-looking trim, while Prestige+ will have more features than the Prestige.
Not much is known yet about the new range-topping Kylaq variants. However, the Sportline will be a sportier-looking variant and is likely to have cosmetic changes inside and outside to reflect this. No mechanical changes are expected.
To differentiate between the previous top-spec Kylaq Prestige and the new Prestige+ variants, Skoda has removed the 6-way powered front seats from the Prestige, which now costs Rs 24,000 less. The Kylaq price range still tops out at Rs 12.99 lakh, though it is the Prestige+ that now tops the range.
