The upcoming facelift of the Maruti Brezza has been spied again, revealing new details. While earlier spy shots showcased minor exterior updates and the presence of an underbody CNG tank, newer images hint that the compact SUV could get an updated cabin layout and a new transmission setup.
- Interior to feature a revised design and likely a larger 10.1-inch infotainment system
- Currently, the Brezza is the only SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine
Maruti Brezza facelift: Powertrain details

The latest images of the Brezza facelift’s test mule show a new 6-speed manual gear knob, and this transmission is expected to be paired with a new engine, possibly the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that powers the Fronx. Currently, the Brezza is the only SUV in its segment without a turbo-petrol engine. However, Maruti is expected to retain the Brezza’s existing naturally aspirated petrol and CNG-powered variants with the facelift.
A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine would also mean a lower 18 percent tax on the Brezza facelift variants with this engine, as they will then fall under sub-4m cars with petrol engines up to 1,200cc. The current version, powered by a 1.5-litre petrol unit, attracts 40 percent GST.
