Maruti Suzuki exported 3,95,000 vehicles in 2025, its highest-ever tally in a calendar year, growing over 21 percent year on year (YoY). The carmaker also remained India’s top passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth consecutive year, shipping 18 models to over 100 countries.

Commenting on the milestone, Hisashi Takeuchi, MD and CEO, Maruti Suzuki, said, “This is a proud moment for the company as we record our highest ever calendar year exports… It reflects India’s manufacturing strength and the trust of customers worldwide. At a time when global trade is passing through a turbulent phase, we regard this… growth as a responsible contribution in supporting the nation’s export momentum.”

Commencement of e Vitara’s production

2025 also saw the start of the production of the Suzuki e Vitara, the brand’s first electric vehicle, in August. It is manufactured at the Hansalpur factory in Gujarat, and over 13,000 units have already been exported to 29 countries, mainly in Europe.
Fronx hit 1,00,000-unit export milestone in July

In July 2025, the Fronx became the fastest Indian SUV to hit the 1,00,000 export unit milestone. The feat was achieved in just 25 months from the start of global sales in June 2023.

Compared to 2020, exports rose roughly 365 percent in 2025

The bar graph points to a largely consistent growth in Maruti Suzuki’s vehicle exports from India in recent years. Exports jumped sharply in 2021, rising by over 140 percent compared to 2020, before growth settled to just 28 percent in 2022. The curve flattened further in 2023, slipping to just over 2 percent. Exports regained momentum in 2024 with an increase of a little over 21 percent, and the same pace carried through into 2025.
