Mahindra has announced that the XUV 7XO and XEV 9S together received 93,689 bookings within the first four hours on January 14, 2026. The carmaker said the figure was recorded as of 2.00pm and translates into a booking value of over Rs 20,500 crore.

The new Mahindra XUV 7XO launched at a starting price of Rs 13.66 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.92 lakh. Pre-bookings for the SUV had closed ahead of launch, and fresh bookings commenced on January 14, 2026. Mahindra also confirmed that deliveries for select variants have begun on the same day, while those for the remaining variants will follow in April 2026.

The XUV 7XO’s key rivals include the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.

Mahindra launched the XEV 9S 3-row electric SUV with prices starting at Rs 19.95 lakh for the entry-level Pack One Above variant and going up to Rs 29.45 lakh for the Pack Three Above variant. The XEV 9S is based on Mahindra’s INGLO platform. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on January 23, 2026.

The XEV 9S gets 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery options, with an ARAI-rated range of up to 679km. Positioned as a mass-market 7-seat electric SUV, it currently has no direct rival.
