    The Mahindra Scorpio N is now available with a torque converter automatic gearbox starting from the Z4 trim, which sits just above the base Z2. Prices for the Scorpio N Z4 AT are Rs 17.39 lakh for the petrol version and Rs 17.86 lakh for the diesel. Earlier, the automatic range of this Mahindra SUV started with the Z6 diesel trim at Rs 18.91 lakh and the Z8 Select petrol at Rs 19.06 lakh. That makes the new Scorpio Z4 AT models more affordable than the former and latter trims by Rs 1.05 lakh and Rs 1.67 lakh, respectively.

    The Scorpio N Z4 trim gets two engine options: mStallion 2-litre turbo-petrol and mHawk 2.2-litre diesel. The petrol engine is good for 203hp/ 370Nm (6MT), 380Nm (6AT), while the diesel pot churns out 132hp/ 300Nm with both gearboxes. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with the Z4 trim, but buyers can opt for a four-wheel drive system with the Z4 (E) diesel optional variant, albeit with the MT unit. The 4WD Z4 (E) is tuned for 175hp/ 370Nm.

    Sold only in the 7-seat configuration, the Scorpio N Z4 packs goodies like halogen headlights, LED turn indicators, 17-inch wheels with plastic covers, a rear spoiler, power windows, an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, second-row AC vents and fabric upholstery. In terms of safety tech, it comes equipped with front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold and descent controls, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers.
