After facing backlash online from multiple owners over the release of a second batch of the ‘limited-run’ BE 6 Batman Edition, Mahindra has agreed to buy back units belonging to owners unhappy with their purchase. The homegrown automaker launched the first batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition in August 2025, with the unexpected second batch going on sale on March 6, 2026.
- Buyback offer only valid for 30 days, starting March 18
- Owners need to contact the dealership to initiate the buyback
- Batman Edition is based on the BE 6’s Pack Three variant
Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition: What is the uproar about?

Mahindra launched the BE 6 Batman Edition with just 999 units allocated for the entire country. Limited in availability, the homegrown automaker claimed that all units were spoken for within a few minutes of the brand opening bookings for the Batman Edition. However, with the unexpected arrival of a second batch barely seven months down the line, this key selling point faced dilution.
Mahindra then released the second batch of the BE 6 Batman Edition on March 6, 2026, and just like the first batch, the second batch consisting of 999 units was also spoken for – this time within just seven minutes of bookings opening. This was despite the fact that the automaker jacked up the price of the Batman Edition by Rs 70,000 over the first batch.

Noticing the uproar among customers, Mahindra has responded by offering to fully buy back the first batch of the Batman Edition. Those who are interested in taking up Mahindra on this offer can communicate the same to their dealership, who shall then explain the next course of action. Among its terms and conditions, Mahindra has stated that this offer will only be valid for a period of 30 days, starting March 18, 2026.

While it gets various Batman-related decals, badges and other exclusive styling details, the Batman Edition is based on the Pack Three variant of the BE 6. This means it comes with a 79kWh battery pack with an ARAI-claimed range of 682km, powering a rear axle-mounted electric motor capable of delivering 286hp and 380Nm of torque. Similarly, charging options come in the form of a 7.2kW or an 11kW AC charger, both of which cost over and above the car’s ex-showroom price of Rs 28.49 lakh.
