The most distinctive visual element on the outside that sets the Cineluxe Edition apart from the standard XEV 9e comes in the form of two new monotone colour choices. The Satin Black colour provides for a stealthy yet menacing look, while the Satin White colour is paired with a contrasting gloss-black body cladding. There is also a ‘Cineluxe’ badge on the rear pillars. The rest of the exterior looks similar to that of the XEV 9e’s Pack Three trim, which means 19-inch alloy wheels, full-LED headlamps and tail-lamps and a powered tailgate.

Inside the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition is a new Chestnut Brown and Nocturne Black two-tone theme. This contrasting two-tone effect wraps itself around the stubby gear selector and two-spoke steering wheel, aside from certain portions of the door pads. The leatherette seats and front-centre armrest, which are primarily upholstered in black, get brown stitching, an effect that extends to the dashboard and steering wheel as well. The equipment list of the Cineluxe Edition is shared with the standard XEV 9e’s top Three Pack trim, which sees the inclusion of three high-definition digital displays, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, ambient lighting with 16 million colours, a panoramic glass roof, wireless charging pads, dedicated climate modes for pets and camping, custom drive modes, an augmented-reality head-up display and surround-view cameras with a built-in surveillance mode, among others.

While it is based on the fully loaded Pack Three trim, the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition is only offered with the larger 79kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Mahindra claims a maximum range of about 500km for this battery option, while our testing revealed a real-world range of 456km. The Cineluxe Edition uses the same rear-mounted electric motor generating 286hp and 380Nm, which means 0-100kph in 7.45 seconds.

Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition price

With a price tag of Rs 29.35 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Mahindra XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition sits between the 59kWh Pack Three Select and the top 79kWh Pack Three variants. For reference, these are priced at Rs 28.65 lakh and Rs 31.25 lakh, respectively. While Mahindra hasn’t stated which charger is offered with the XEV 9e Cineluxe Edition, the standard model is available with either a 7.2kW AC or an 11kW AC charger priced at Rs 50,000 and Rs 75,000, respectively (over and above the vehicle's ex-showroom price). As a recap, the XEV 9e competes with the BYD Atto 3 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
