Kia Syros HTK (EX) trim launched at Rs 9.89 lakh

Kia has added a new mid-spec HTK (EX) trim to its compact SUV Syros, pricing it at Rs 9.89 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 10.64 lakh for the diesel. Like the Kia Carens Clavis HTE (EX) trim, which launched on the same day, the Syros HTK (EX) makes available some exterior features at a lower price point in the line-up.

  1. Syros now has seven trims; HTK (EX) gets both turbo-petrol and diesel engine options
  2. HTK (EX), third from base, introduces all-LED exterior lighting at over Rs 2 lakh less
  3. Other HTK (EX) features include a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a single-pane sunroof

The Kia Syros HTK (EX) is offered with both the 120hp 1-litre turbo-petrol and the 116hp 1.5-litre diesel engine options, but only with a manual gearbox. Here are the prices:

With the new HTK (EX) trim, the Kia Syros line-up has increased to seven trims – HTK, HTK (O), HTK (EX), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O) – with prices ranging from Rs 8.67 lakh to Rs 15.94 lakh.

Brings all-LED exterior lighting to the line-up at over Rs 2 lakh less

Earlier, LED headlights, LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) and LED tail-lights were offered from the higher-spec HTX trim, but the HTK (EX) brings them to the line-up at over Rs 2 lakh less.

The HTK (EX) trim also adds 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels for the turbo-petrol variant, while the diesel version retains the same wheels as the HTK (O) trim.

Kia Syros HTK (EX): Other features

Gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, sunroof and a rear parking camera

From the lower HTE (O) trim, the new HTK (EX) borrows a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6 speakers, a semi-digital driver’s display and a single-pane sunroof. It also gets manual AC with rear vents, a rear parking camera and powered outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) with auto-fold function and LED turn indicators.

The HTK (EX) trim’s safety suite features 6 airbags, a tyre-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill-start assist, front and rear parking sensors, a manually adjustable interior rearview mirror (IRVM) and ISOFIX child seat anchorages.

The Kia Syros locks horns with sub-4m SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Skoda Kylaq and Kia Sonet.
