Just last month, we reported that JSW Motors had partnered with Chery to bring the Jetour T2 SUV to India by Diwali 2026. Now, the company has officially teased this upcoming plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model for the first time in an advertisement to recruit new dealer partners. The new SUV, which will be JSW Motors’s first offering in India, will be assembled at its upcoming Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) plant in Maharashtra.
- Jetour T2-based SUV will likely be priced in the Rs 15 lakh-30 lakh range
- Expected to get the international-spec model’s plug-in hybrid setup
Upcoming JSW Motors SUV teased: What can be spotted?
Teaser shows Jetour T2-like lighting but slightly different ORVMs

The image teases the front profile of the upcoming JSW Motors SUV, with horizontal LED headlight strips within a circular housing and pixel-shaped LED fog lamps lit up. A closer look also reveals an upright bonnet and protruding bumper and wheel arches, all of which are identical to the Jetour T2.
What’s different, however, are the outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), which look a bit smaller. Also, the India-spec model will sport a JSW badge in place of the Jetour lettering.

India-spec model expected to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain
While the international-spec Jetour T2 comes in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric (EV) versions, the India-spec model is expected to be offered with only the hybrid setup. The PHEV version uses a 154hp/220Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine mated with a 26.7kWh battery pack. It is available in a single-motor FWD setup or a dual-motor AWD layout. The battery pack has an NEDC-certified all-electric range of 139km.
Likely to be loaded with modern features

Inside, the Jetour T2 features a chunky steering wheel, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. It is offered with five seats. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger for the front passengers, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, powered and ventilated front seats and automatic climate control. Its safety suite comprises a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, and hill-start and hill-descent assists. All of this is likely to make its way to the India-spec model as well.
India debut planned by Diwali 2026, but there could be a delay

JSW Motors is planning to debut the Jetour T2-based SUV by Diwali 2026. However, the manufacturer is facing slow approvals for importing Chinese components, which could delay the model’s India launch.
Talking about the prices, Sajjan Jindal, chairman of JSW Group, commented, “We aim to play in that Rs 15 lakh to 30 lakh price point”, suggesting it can be a competitor to the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari in our market.
